Dignity of the Elderly

As part of Family Life Society 25th Anniversary Celebrations, we are delighted to partner with Singapore Pastoral Institute and Caritas Singapore, in bringing workshops to promote Dignity of the Elderly.

The 2nd series of workshops will focus on the psychological and mental aspects of ageing.  The topic will touch on the Christian perspectives on suffering and pain and ending on the Mon 29 Mar on chronic and terminal illness.   The care needed for not only the elderly but the caregivers; the issue of Christian meaning of death; speaking about end of life issues, etc.

The first in the series is three (3) talks to be presented by Professor Elizabeth MacKinlay, RN, BA, Bth, MEd, PHD.FRCNA, from Charles Sturt University, Canberra, Australia.  She is a lecturer in the School of Theology and is also the director of the Centre for Ageing and Pastoral Studies (CAPS).  Dr MacKinley is a well-known teacher and researcher in the areas of aged care, with special interest in spirituality in CSU.   Sign up now for these 3 talks commencing 28 Feb 2010.
