Developing well-rounded and motivated young people is critical as they are the future leaders of society. Character development workshops incorporated with drama skits, drama techniques, elements of magic and other enriching activities are conducted to enhance confidence and resilience among youth. Students learn life skills that help them become more effective in coping with life’s demands, benefit from positive attitudes towards family, relationships and life in general and learn positive and effective skills to improve child-parent relationships.
Some topics include:
Character Development through drama
Using drama and role play, we hope to stimulate the child’s rational thought processes and active involvement in making right choices.
Homework! But I want to play!
A skit on responsibility centres on the activities of a child on a typical school day which allows the students to identify responsible and irresponsible actions. This is followed by a classroom session where facilitators engage there thought and reasoning processes.
Conflict Management
Through creative activities and team building exercises, students gain insight into themselves. They then discover how to improve communication, make the schoolplace more enjoyable, motivate the class, get to know each other, adopt self-regulation techniques, improve team productivity, identify and utilise the strengths of team members and practice effective collaboration with others.
Relating well with peers
This workshop encourages students to relate with their peers more effectively. Through art, interactive activities, a talk and letter-writing exercise to each other; students understand concepts of peer pressure and how to stay clear from temptations and bad influence. Friendship and acceptance are key elements of the workshop.
I want to be in Primary 1!
This programme centres on the use of skit and roleplay to ignite in students the power to overcome feelings of anxiety, fear, stress and failure and to help them identify those feelings.
Motivational
Students learn about positive thinking through self talk, how to set goals and adopt an action plan.
Building Resilience
At the classroom sessions, students discover the qualities of a resilient person. They understand the impact an individual has over others through his actions and are instilled with responsibility and diligence.
