Synopsis
Ever feel like your child’s conversation is limited to “yes,” “no,” or “fine”?
You’re not alone! In this session, we’ll explore the world of today’s children through real-life case studies and provide practical tools to tune in, build trust, and respond with empathy instead of frustration.
By the end of this session, you will:
Understand today’s child – Discover the nature of the new generation and key aspects of a child’s brain development.
Communicate wisely – Learn which approaches build connection and which may unintentionally push your child away.
Step into your child’s perspective – Through case studies, recognise the emotions behind one-word replies or withdrawn behaviour and become more attuned to their emotional needs.
Build stronger relationships – Gain practical strategies and actionable tools to foster trust, connection, and meaningful conversations with your child.
Speaker: Daniel Ng is a husband and father of two teenagers. He is the Principal Therapist at Catholic Family Life (CFL) and has over 20 years of experience in counselling and therapy.
He spent more than 13 years in KKH Women’s and Children’s Hospital providing clinical services to paediatric patients and their families.
In his current role at CFL, Daniel manages the daily operations and clinical standards of the counselling services. He leads a team of full-time therapists and associate therapists, while also providing clinical support and supervision to the team of pro-bono counsellors.
