27^th Sunday of Ordinary Time 

Growing up, my grandparents played an integral part in my upbringing. While my parents worked, it was my Ah Ma and Ah Pa who would look after me and make sure i got back from school safe. Ah Ma would cook for me, and Ah Pa tell his stories from when he was younger.

Inadvertently, it was also my grandparents who taught me about my Catholic faith and how to love God with all my heart.

In many ways, it was my grandparents' relationship that taught me what a marriage should look like. Ah Ma would say that that marriage is like a bed of roses, its beautiful, just don't forget the thorns. And I never really understood that until later in life. Much like roses, marriage is beautiful, but there are times when we may not get a long with one another. It's far from perfect, and that's okay. My grandparents were not perfect, they argued and bickered with one another, but they were always quick to make up. But above all, they always placed Christ at the centre of their lives, and their love for him reflected on each other.

Marriage is not easy, but having it rooted in God's love allows it flourish. So how do we glorify God through our marriage - we make intentional choices every day to be selfless, self-sacrificial and life giving, honoring God and strengthening our relationship with Him and each other.
