23^rd Sunday of Ordinary Time 

How often do we prioritise our children’s CCAs over catechism classes, our work over Sunday mass, leisure entertainment over serving in Church?

We live in a noisy world; and distractions bombard us all day long. The constant need to be connected ultimately makes it difficult to open our hearts and to listen to the Lord. Jesus invites us in today’s Gospel to ‘be opened’. This is more than about physical healing – it is a profound reminder to us to be present in the daily miracles God our Father works in our lives.

Let us to come together as a family to make a conscious effort to be spiritually present, to accept His invitation by being open to the Holy Spirit and to be attentive to the small little miracles happening around us every day.

Who better to see this best exemplified by than our Mother Mary. The Church today celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her “yes” is a beautiful example of being fully present and attentive to His divine will. As we reflect on Mother Mary’s life and her unwavering faith, may we imitate her love and openness, growing closer to God our Father and recognize the miracles unfolding in our everyday moments.
